Light on Yoga

First published in 1966 by George Allen and Unwin, Great Britain. Now published by Harper Collins, India in 1992. B.K.S. Iyengar's classic book on yoga. It contains 602 photographs and includes an introduction to the philosophy of yoga. There is an appendix recommending asanas for a wide variety of ailments and for serious students a series of yoga courses. This book is the magnum opus of yoga which was first published in 1965 in English. This "Bible" of yoga has been translated in many languages. It has been called the "fullest, most practical and best illustrated book on the subject" with more than 600 illustrations. It starts with the explanation on "What is Yoga ?" and then the intricate details on how to perform more than 200 postures. It also introduces pranayamas, bandhas and kriyas.

This book was published in 1983. It has now become a classical book on Yoga for women. This book takes into consideration the milestones in a woman’s life.
