Immerse yourself in Yoga
Mountain View Yoga Foundation Course
May 1-5, 2024 , Dharamshala
Attention to details and precision in each class, ensures that the students will progress gradually in developing their Iyengar Yoga practice, bringing health and balance to the body and the mind.
Course Structure
- 8:30 – 10:30 Asana practice
- 16:00 – 17:30 Pranayama and Philosophy
Every morning we start with the prayers. We continue with Yog Asanas (postures) practice, mainly standing and sitting poses, to develop body awareness, strength and to learn the Iyengar Method “language” from A-Z. The workshop sequence gradually introduce more Asanas and Pranayama. On the last day of the course a self practice plan will be suggested in order to continue the practice independently.
The course plan is based on ‘Yoga In Action – Preliminary Course’ book by Geeta S. Iyengar, and Asanas are being thought in the classic Iyengar way (see Recommended books page). pracice
The studio in Dharamshala, a Spiritual Heaven
Dharamshala is a place in the upper Kangra Region, set within the foothills of the Himalayas in the Dhauladhar Range of Himachal Pradesh, North India. We call it “Switzerland of India”
This is a very important place for the Tibetian Buddists. This is also the seat of his Holiness the 14th Dalai lama and the place which Tibetian refugees chose to come to, when China invaded Tibet.
Dharamshala has been a popular tourist attraction for Indians as well as foreigners for many years and It’s fairly easy to get here as there is a local airport.
Nature here is magical. The thick cover of Deodar and Cedar trees, with its magnificent snowy mountains peaks and the scenic beauty all around, makes the place charming. Apart from this, the monasteries round this place add to the peaceful energy and you can spend hours over here in such serenity and bliss.
It is undoubtedly an ideal retreat place if you wish to soothe your soul in the grandeur of natural beauty and spiritual vibes, with all the amenities you’ll need for a great holiday in the Himalaya mountains of North India.
